Modern Slavery Policy
Modern Slavery Statement
The Modern Slavery Act of 2015 requires businesses to produce a statement regarding the steps we have taken during the year to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any of our supply chains, nor in any part of the business.
Defining Modern Slavery
Modern slavery refers to a contemporary form of exploitation that exists despite the abolition of traditional slavery. It involves one person depriving another of their freedom in order to exploit them for personal gain. The United Nations identifies modern slavery as encompassing slavery, servitude, human trafficking, and forced labour. This global issue is recognised by governments, including the UK government, and can be found in various economic sectors.
Our Commitment
At Dr.PAWPAW, ethical business practices and policies are fundamental to our operations. We are dedicated to continuously improving our systems and processes to ensure that modern slavery has no place within our organisation or supply chains. We expect all our suppliers to uphold the rights and well-being of their workforce, promoting high standards of welfare.
Supply Chain Transparency
Transparency in our supply chain is of utmost importance to us. The term "supply chain" encompasses the individuals and companies involved in the production and sale of our products. This includes both our direct manufacturing partners (first tier) and their suppliers (second tier). Additionally, freight forwarders, transporters, and couriers are included in this category.
All suppliers are required to adhere to our ethical code of conduct and undergo regular audits. Our code of conduct clearly outlines the values, expectations, and stringent standards that we expect all our suppliers to meet.
Mitigating Risks
We have identified specific areas within our internal business policies that play a crucial role in mitigating the risks associated with human trafficking and modern slavery. Regular policy reviews are conducted to ensure their effectiveness and alignment with our commitment to combating these issues.
At Dr.PAWPAW, we have consistently prioritised honesty and transparency in our relationships with suppliers, with anti-bribery and whistleblowing policies also in place. We consider them as valuable partners and are committed to collaborating with them in addressing this global issue together. Our aim is to actively contribute and play our part in minimising its impact.
