Hello Gorgeous,
We have joined forces with charities Black Women Rising and our long-term partner Teenage Cancer Trust to develop an essential campaign dedicated to raising awareness about skin cancer in people of colour.
"More Than Skin Deep" is the name of our campaign, and it will highlight how misinformation about skin health affects everyone. As cancer knows no boundaries, accessible, inclusive information on prevention should be available for everyone, no matter the colour of their skin.
The initiative comes from the feeling that there currently is a lack of accessible information about the signs and symptoms of skin cancer on darker skin tones, making early detection of skin cancer in people of colour more difficult.
Through this partnership, Black Women Rising, Dr.PAWPAW and Teenage Cancer Trust aim to create educational resources that help people of colour recognise skin cancer signs and take action sooner. By bridging this awareness gap, they seek to empower communities with the knowledge needed to protect their health.
To kick-start this important project, we are conducting a survey to gain a clear understanding of the current level of awareness and misinformation surrounding skin cancer in people of colour.
You can help us by completing the survey here: https://forms.gle/B4BDCkCFzEFLKdBK6
This data will help determine the most effective ways to reach people with vital information about the signs and symptoms, ensuring that “More Than Skin Deep” provides the right information in the most accessible way.
With these insights, impactful resources that truly make a difference can be created, empowering more people with the knowledge they need for early detection and better health outcomes.
